I Voted Today!

I know. The rest of you probably did the sensible thing and voted early. I tried! When I requested an early ballot, it wouldn't let me. when I called and asked why they said something strange like, "your voter status has been suspended" What the heck! When I asked how that could happen, they didn't know. They said I would have to go out to the early voting polls. I intended to, but you won't be too surprised to find out it didn't happen.

Ginge comes over today, so I had three hours to get my voting done child free. But when I got there, there was no line! Woo hoo! All you responsible people who do their voting early made it so much easier on people like me.

so I took my cheat sheet and voted. If you don;t know for whom, then we probably haven't met. Or you haven't heard my children explain how Barack Obama believes in killing babies. Don't worry, they don't know the details of what a partial birth abortion entails, but they don't really need to.My presidential pick is more complicated than that, but not to the kids. Maybe they have a point;)

Happy voting!

I don't have a very well informed opinion about Obama's stance on partial birth abortion, but I thought this article was interesting. Its from the popular LDS blog, By Common Consent. http://www.bycommonconsent.com/2008/11/on-fetuses-babies-and-bathwater/

My 8 year old, Gabe, has been asking questions about abortion lately. Each time I answer, he says, "But that's so sad!" Yes, honey, it is!

I voted, too! Keep your fingers cross that goodness still has a fighting chance. Or we might end up moving to Arizona! ;)

There is a sense of power going to the polls and casting your vote.

Unfortunately, little red, too many Obama supporters (like yourself) are uninformed about Obama's stance on many issues. The reason you are uninformed is because the information we have for Obama is from his CAMPAIGN and really, how accurate do you think that is? Obama SAYS he is against late-term abortion. As far as partial birth abortion goes, that is just another form of late-term abortion and trust me, they are all equally hideous. Obama has made a point to be on the record as AGAINST late-term abortions EXCEPT when a mother's health is at risk. You are misinforming your kids. He does not advocate baby-killing...just fetus killing, or zygote killing, depending on the stage of development. The problem is, we only have ONE year that Obama was actually doing anything political that we can track to see what he does when he's NOT campaigning. During that time, in the senate, he voted FOR abortion EVERY time, late-term or not. He always supported Roe v. Wade. So, you can either believe what he says, or what he does. And BTW, little red, Obama said in a political rally; that a woman that chooses to have sex before she's married should not be "punished" with a baby. Yes, "punished" as if someone is forcing her to keep the baby and raise it herself. This is the guy you want running the country. In the meantime, Sherry, get off the partial birth bandwagon and get on the late term one. "partial birth abortion" is not a medical term, just a hot-button term that someone made up to get people riled up. And about that article...it may be interesting, but also very biased. It mentions only ONE form of partial birth abortion and that is not even the one that babies actually live through--which is why there is such a huge outcry. Like most political articles, it takes the best of the partial birth examples and the worst of the pre-birth examples and tries to prove a point. And the analogy is flawed. If you could compare late-term abortion to carrying out the death penalty, as in that article, then the baby would have to be a criminal for one thing, and the shot to the head would have to be instantly fatal every time. Flawed analogy, doesn't happen. But I do like the point--late term abortion is still abortion, no matter how it is carried out, and it's abominable. Sorry for the heat, but I'm a little ticked off that a stinking bleeding heart liberal is in the white house.
