Twilight Series

I have been contemplating rereading these books for a little while. I have resisted because, frankly, I am useless enough as it is lately. Give me a fun book to read, or three, and I am COMPLETELY useless. I have no self control. I read until the book is finished. I envy those girls that can read for a 1/2 hour or hour before bedtime and be done with it. I am not one of those girls. My friend Crystal has been known to have the self control to not read her book until her house is clean, and sometimes she will only read it while she is on the treadmill. Not me. The kids and the house go to pot until my book is done. Since the house and my kids have pretty much gone to pot because I have been so sick, I figure, why not. I might as well be entertained while I am trying not to hurl, right;)

It is not the best writing around. They are like candy books. Nothing but empty calories. You don't really learn anything from them. (I like to tell my husband that I learn something new with every book I read. That is why I am so good at Trivial Pursuit;) These books, not so true.) But the story is compelling as well as entertaining. And who isn't fascinated by vampires? (yes, I loved the series "Angel", Good vampire plus hot guy equals quality T.V. The same is true about this new Twilight movie, I'm sure of it;)

Now, who was it that I borrowed these books from a few summers ago? Be expecting a call!

6 people know I love comments!:

OK, Kyara and I have both read the whole series. Yes, it is mind candy, and I would have preferred a little more sophisticated writing, but it is truly perfect for these hot summer days! We can't wait for the movie. We're going to see it together!

You're kidding, right? The writing is the least objectionable part of the series! The tragedy of Twilight is that Meyer is a good writer with some interesting ideas. She's not genius level, but she certainly stacks up well with your average published author.

I'd have loved the books if her heroine had even a small sense of responsibility or self-determination.

yup love the series! i like the easy mindless read! total mind candy! it's a young adult book which makes it that much more enjoyable, and frivolous! but that's what is so great about it! can't wait for the next one, and the movie! SO EXCITED! if you don't have them yet Costco has them cheaper than anywhere else! i am missing my 1st one, and need it so i can re read!

oh and my house goes to crap too while i read, or i just don't sleep until I'm done, then it goes to crap while i catch up on sleep. either way, same ending. CRAPHOLE HOUSE. last year while reading Harry potter, my 4th Cut her own bangs, and i didn't even care. my fault totally for reading all day!but i blamed my husband since he was out of town the weekend the book came out. i couldn't be bothered to care for the kids with a good book to read!

Ok, all the boogers out there, I am giving in and just got the stinking book. I am just too tired of the stupified look as I answer "why no, I have not read them yet!"
I hope it's as fun as you all say Ü

Ha ha, so I am re-reading the series for the second time this month! It is mind candy, but with everything else going on in life that's nice. I have the books if you want to borrow them. I borrowed "Twilight" so you will have to find that somewhere, but I have the rest. I know I'll be buying the 4th on Saturday, don't want to wait in line for the library. I do agree everything else goes to crap, I get way too caught up in it and don't put it down.
